The Nightfly paints a picture of Fagen’s experience growing up in the 1950’s. From the blind optimism of the future, to the late night jazz stations he would stay up to listen to. Though the album is a solo project from Fagen, many themes found in Steely Dan songs are still present in the songs.

I kept the moody vibe that the original cover has while incorporating more color, drawing the inspiration for the blue tones from the title text on the front of the record. The grid system that marks Swiss Style apart from the rest was fun to experiment with. I pushed the grids to help evoke the feeling of both excitement and uncertainty in the album.
